Frequently Asked Questions
+Is Eagle Heights affiliated with any other church/churches?
The Lead Pastor moved up from a church in Hammond, La (Eagle Heights of Hammond). We are a plant of our sending church (EHCC Hammond) and we partner with them whenever possible to enhance our impact locally and globally.
+Why Was Eagle Heights Started? Aren’t there plenty of other churches already?
Although there are many churches, There is still more than 60% of the population of Shelby county alone that is unchurched. It is our mission to create a safe place for seekers and skeptics to meet God. There are thousands of unchurched in the Memphis region. We want to make sure there is a church for them, a place where they feel welcomed, accepted and challenged to be all that God wants them be.
+What kind of training does Jake have?
Jake has been around the ministry his entire life. Growing up in a minister’s home he received hands on experience that can’t be taught in school. After surrendering to the call of God on his life he attended Southeastern Louisiana University then began attending Ministers Training Institute in Baton Rouge, La. During school he took a part time youth pastor position at Eagle Heights Community Church in Hammond, La. After building a successful student ministry he was offered the position of Associate Pastor, where he served for 5 years and gained hands on training that helped to prepare him for leading EHCC Memphis. When he started at EHCC in Hammond it was a new church plant with about 80 people, at the time of his departure 7 years later it had grown to over 700.
+Why did he choose Memphis to start EHCC?
Three cities were considered for the plant. Memphis, Nashville, and Orlando however, we felt that the Lord was leading us to Memphis. At this point we feel that we are just being obedient to the Lord, and that the specific reasoning will be revealed to us in His time.
+How is EHCC goverened?
Eagle Heights government is two-fold. The first being a board of overseers whose main responsibility is to hold the lead pastor spiritually, morally, and ethically accountable in his leadership of the church, These individuals have either been senior pastors or are currently serving as senior pastors of their respective churches, all of them have over 20 plus years at the senior pastorate and have pastored or are currently pastoring succesful ministries, these are men with long track records of spiritual, moral, and ethical integrity. The second fold of of our government is in a board of directors within the church, this board is chosen by the lead pastor as an advisory board in helping him to make major decisions affecting the long term life of the church.
+Does EHCC have a youth ministry?

+How can I get to know people in the church?

In the future we will have connection groups meeting throughout the area. Call or email the church to get plugged, in or if you are interested in starting a connection group.
